EXTRAS (Extended Time for Recreational Activities in Salisbury) is a state-licensed child care program housed at Salisbury Central School. The mission of EXTRAS is to provide an affordable, safe and educational environment for school-age children while encouraging positive social, emotional and physical development. Starting as an after-school program in 1988, it has expanded to include school vacations, and a summer program. EXTRAS gives working parents in the Salisbury and Lakeville area the security of knowing their children are safe and having fun while they maintain employment.
EXTRAS is fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with The Hotchkiss School, who bring high school students to volunteer in our classroom weekly during the school year! The high schoolers help EXTRAS students with crafts, play games, and are all around positive role models. EXTRAS students look forward to their visits!
